Project: I See by Kita Kawan Mah

One day event organized by Kita Kawan Mah at Black Box MAP KL, Publika.
It's about the refugees in Malaysia, and how we should treat them as human too.

I've always been annoyed by people who treated their foreigner house maids, cleaners and constructor workers badly. Some of the employers made their maids to have what they didn't want anymore, like teh ais that they couldn't finish. Some site supervisors never talked nicely to the foreign workers because they thought that 'they will never listen to nice command, so must shout la'.
Well, sometimes they forgot they are humans, too.

And here's what I saw yesterday.

I've got to know about Dumpwerks at Mari Market yesterday.
Like Geo-Wood, they used junks and salvaged wood to make the furniture and decor items.

I like the diving helmet at the bottom of the shelf!
They made it into lighting. But it's for display only, not for sale. ;P

The rack, the piping light and the bulb plant holder, all by them.

Geo-Wood  by Malaysian designers, which was a college project back then, was quite a success and eventually still going strong. They use salvaged wood and other junks to make necklace, key chain and other decor items.
Geo-Wood is a regular for local handmade markets.
They were in Mari Market @IOI Boulevard organized by Justlife.

 What I got.

 What chenyee bought.

Fy had some too.
Don't you think they are too adorable to resist?
That's how we spent our fortune~

Japanese crafter -藤居奈菜江 おうち宝箱

藤居奈菜江 おうち宝箱

I saw her work in Isetan Kyoto.
I was fascinated by the art works especially the house series.
Check a little on her work here.

I contemplated for some times and finally made up my mind to buy this one because there were so many nice ones to choose from.

 Glass surface inside.
The wooden 'roof' is made with sakura.

It can be a jewellery box.
Lovely, isn't it?

Some lovely collection from Kansai trip

I was amazed by handcraft items by the Japanese.
Wooden stuff and pottery, I just couldn't get enough of them.

Lucky I was firmed with this-is-not-a-shopping-trip idea, so I didn't bring back too much items.

Some are for friends and sister, and all of them are with function besides looking good. :)

Hi deer! Nara Park

We were lucky that we had lovely weather to have fun at Nara Park.

We already encountered the deers before we really went into Nara Park to play with them.
Seeing them to cross the road while the cars stopped and waited for them, it was such a cute scene!

Hi deer~!
