We were in Penang Island like travellers (day 2)-Chai Diam Ma

We couldn't visit all the places we wanted to on Thursday, so we went to Penang again after lunch on the next day.
It was another hazy day in the island.

We came to Chai Diam Ma (grocery shop in Hokkien dialect) on Queen St.

A wall at the courtyard of the shop cum cafe.

Staircase to upper floor for exhibition.

A tiny gap on the wooden floor looking down to ground floor.
That's a chair in the cafe.

Window view at the etrance.

Another new place is coming up. Wonder what's that.

After leavig Chai Diam Ma, we went to have our tea time at 42 La Boheme.
What we had in the cafe.

We were in Penang Island like travellers (day 1)

Like travellers, as we visit Penang every year for a few times and in fact I was born there, is still valid as we really walked around like travellers.

We visited cafes and arcade (glad that we were on time for Georgetown Festival 2011).
We stopped when we saw interesting old shops.
We were so happy when we found the place we wanted to visit.

Jalan Muntri is so happening!

Wire sculptures could be seen around Georgetown.

Mews Cafe, Jalan Muntri.

The brand new Ryokan Chic Hostel.

Behind50, closes on Thursdays.

Keep walking, from Jalan Muntri to Armenian St.

We wanted to have lunch in Amelie Cafe, but it was a full house.
So we walked back to Jalan Muntri to eat in Soul Kitchen.

After that we went to Whiteaways Arcade in Beach St.

Cool open stage inside Whiteaways Arcade.

'Line Line Journey' exhibition, Galeri Seni Mutiara.

We had a group photo with Amelie Cafe after our tea time there. :)

I want a world map to stick on my wall

Yeah, I'll do that eventually. :)
Like this image, cool isn't it?

A framed US map in Rinne Allen's home.

George Town Festival 2011

Wow, Penang is having such a great event here!

It's to celebrate George Town being listed as UNESCO world heritage site on year 2008.
A lot of events and exhibition including dances, music events, photography and food will be held in conjunction with the festival.
Sounds exciting! Especially they could afford to invite Akram Khan to perform 'Vertical Road'.

Check out this official website for more info.

p/s: oh i miss Penang~
