Straw craft I learned in Okinawa
This morning I was browsing through Japanese magazines and it reminded me of my days in Okinawa last year.
So I took out my travel notebook and while flipping the pages I saw this handcraft I learned from a teacher in Oku, a small village in Northern Okinawa.
I tagged along my WWOOF host to visit this teacher in a big wooden studio inside a forest.
Their coffee plants next to the studio.
Such a cosy and green space. I love the wooden terrace very much.
I made some notes on the teaching after the workshop.
At least I have some references if I needed some info in the future.
So here are my handmade broom and pot stand, now hanging in my kitchen.
